Sham Valley Trek Ladakh

Arrive at Kushok Bakula airport Leh where our representative will assist you and you will be driven to hotel. Have your breakfast at the hotel. Half Day at rest for acclimatization. After Lunch drive to Visit Shanti Stupa, Later in the evening stroll around local market. Have exotic dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.

After breakfast, we take a trip to some of the most fascinating monasteries of Leh, starting with Matho, which lies 26 km south-east of Leh on the opposite bank of the Indus River. Stakna is a small monastery featuring private quarters, all recently decorated in fine Tibetan style, a Du-khang (assembly hall) and the rooms of monks and attendants. After visiting these two monasteries, we drive back to Leh and visit Stok Palace en route. Stok lies south of Leh on the opposite side of the Indus River. The palace was built on a hillside at the edge of town around the year 1825 by King Tsespal Tondup Namgyal. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

After a comfortable breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery, located 45 km from Leh. Hemis is the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back along the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, situated on a hilltop with impressive views of the Indus Valley. Thiksey is particularly notable for its large seated statue of the Maitreya Buddha and is also known for its assembly hall (Dukhang), which houses many rectangular prayer books stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that, we pass through a series of chortens to visit Shey Palace, the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. We also visit the 3 Idiots School Campus and Sindhu Darshan Ghat. Return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.

Today drive towards Liker (45 km) from Leh. Upon arrival at Liker you will drop your baggage at the trekking point, to visit Liker monastery. The trek starts above the village. You will travel in Yangthang through Sumdo village and small passes, including Phobe La (3,550m) and Charatse La (3,650m). Overnight home stay at Yangthang.

After breakfast, you will proceed towards Rezong. You will descend along a stream with dense plantations of apricot and apple. After one hour you will reach a nunnery and then visit monastery, which is totally isolated and bound by mountains on all sides. Proceed to Hemis via a small pass, and we will reach Hemis Shukpachan by afternoon. Explore the nature, habitat and civilization of village for rest of the evening. Overnight home stay at Hemis Shukpachan.

Today is somewhat longer contrasted with the earlier days. You will leave the town and continue toward Temisgam by means of Maptek La (3,750m). You will cross a go with extraordinary perspectives on Ang town. From here, the path slips into Ang town and Drive back to Leh.

In time transfer to Leh airport to board the flight for onward destination.
