Drive to the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Tibet, and stroll through Barkhor Street, the old city’s vibrant market lined with pilgrims, artisans, and centuries-old traditions.
Jokhang Temple is a three-story edifice with an open roof, features numerous chapels and chambers. Barkhor Street, situated in old Lhasa, is a vibrant hub of Tibetan culture, commerce, religion, and artistry.

Visit Drepung Monastery, once the world’s largest monastic institution; Sera Monastery, known for its lively monastic debates; and Norbulingka, the Dalai Lamas’ serene summer palace surrounded by gardens and pavilions. It was founded by the 7th Dalai Lama in 1755.

After departing from Lhasa, we cross the Yarlung Tsangpo River near Gonggar Airport and begin a gradual ascent towards the Khamba-La Pass (4,800 m). From this spectacular vantage point, sweeping views unfold- the glittering expanse of Yamdrok Tso, also known as the Turquoise Lake, shimmers below, encircled by snow-draped peaks and vast open skies.
The drive continues along the shores of this sacred lake, passing through the small town of Ngartse, before climbing again to the Karo-La Pass (5,050 m). Here, the dramatic sight of the Nzongkhangsa Glacier cascading from the 7,206-meter-high mountain leaves an unforgettable impression. Enjoy hospitality amid prayer-flag-strewn plateaus before descending past Ralung Village, continuing an approximate three-hour drive to Gyantse.
Once Tibet’s third-largest town, Gyantse retains its old-world charm and deep historical significance. Here, we visit the magnificent Kumbum Stupa, an architectural and artistic masterpiece built in the early 15th century. The stupa, a harmonious creation of Newari artisans from Nepal and Tibetan craftsmen, is famed as the “100,000 Image Pagoda”- an elaborate, multi-tiered structure filled with countless chapels, frescoes, and sculptures depicting Buddhist deities and symbols.
If time permits, also explore the Kumbum Monastery and its lively nearby market, where traditional Tibetan life unfolds amid the scent of incense and the soft hum of prayer wheels.

Explore the beautiful Palkhor (Palcho) Monastery, unique for housing three Buddhist sects- Sakyapa, Kadampa, and Gelugpa, all under one roof. Continue your drive to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city in Tibet.
A drive from Gyantse to Shigatse is 15 Km long and pass via panoramic views of Nyang Chu River, farm village, and lush green fields. and visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lamas and home to the world’s largest gilded Maitreya Buddha statue.
Tashilhunpo Monastery is a culturally important place in Tibet with a meaning of "all fortune and happiness gathered here" or "heap of glory." In the early 1980s, sections of the Tashilhunpo Monastery were opened to the public, and it has since become a significant tourist destination in Tibet. Founded by the First Dalai Lama in 1447, the monastery serves as the traditional seat of the successive Panchen Lamas, who represent the second-highest-ranking tulku lineage within the Gelukpa tradition. In the beginning, Tashilhunpo was home to over 4,000 monks. However, following the Tibetan national uprising in 1959, a number of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery monks, along with thousands of other Tibetans, sought refuge in India.

Today’s drive takes you through the vast valleys and high passes of central Tibet. The road gracefully traverses expansive valleys, undulating hills, and elevated mountain passes, affording breathtaking vistas of snow-draped summits, traditional Tibetan settlements, and sweeping open plains. Along the way, you will encounter picturesque rivers, fields of barley, and vibrant prayer flags that flutter in the breeze.
Cross the Gyatso La Pass (At height of 5,220 m), offering fresh glimpses of Mount Everest. Continue past traditional villages and sweeping plains before reaching Tashi Zong, a tranquil new tourist town surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Reaching Everest Base Camp is highlight of your journey where you will do the most adventurous ride to Rongbuk Monastery, the highest in the world.

Continuing from Shegar, drive across Tibetan plateau. En route, you will see small hamlets, fields cultivated with barley, and herds of yaks peacefully grazing in the open pastures. Upon approaching Shigatse, the terrain transitions to a more verdant and animated landscape, ultimately leading to Tibet’s second-largest city, renowned for its vibrant cultural heritage and the impressive Tashilhunpo Monastery.
Retrace your route through the expansive Tibetan plateau, passing nomadic settlements, barley fields, and traditional hamlets.
Arrive in Shigatse by afternoon and enjoy a relaxed evening in the charming city.

November to March in Tibet is snow laden that makes rest 6 months as best time to visit here. April to June are best months for Tibet tour when there are clear skies, mild weather and very few tourists. This weather makes this place great for sightseeing and trekking. July to August is peak travel season for Tibet tour with warm weather. September to October are pleasant weather when air is crisp, views are amazing that created best opportunity for photographers.
Yes. In addition to a Chinese visa, all foreign travelers must obtain a Tibet Travel Permit, which is issued only through registered travel agencies. Your permit will be arranged by us before your arrival in Lhasa. Independent travel is not allowed in Tibet- you must travel with an authorized guide and pre-approved itinerary.
Due to its high altitude, Tibet is best suited for travellers in moderate to good health.
We recommend consulting your doctor before traveling, especially if you have respiratory, heart, or blood pressure concerns. The itinerary is designed with gradual acclimatization days in Lhasa (3,650 m) before traveling to higher regions. Tibet’s high elevation may cause mild symptoms of Altitude Sickness such as shortness of breath, mild headache, or fatigue during the first days.
