South India Bike Tour:

The tour will start once you arrive at the Cochin airport. You’ll have some free time to do some personal activities before the real adventure begins. The next day, you’ll be given bikes which you’ll ride to Calicut.

Did you know?

Kozhikode, which is also known as Calicut was once famous for its cotton-weaving center and is recalled as the place of origin of calico (plain-woven textile made from unbleached and not fully processed cotton)

In Calicut, you’ll explore the town and meet and talk to the locals. Remember, even a small ‘Good morning’ or a simple question like, ‘Can you tell me more about Calicut?” can make these kind-hearted people talk and turn your conversation into an unforgettable story!

You’ll then ride and stop at Kalpetta at Vythiri to capture overwhelming pictures. In fact, Vythiri is a famous tourist destination because of its greenery, pleasant weather and freshwater lake where you can enjoy bamboo rafting.

Legend has it…

That an English engineer was killed by the English people because of a Ghat road he built. The spirit of the engineer got furious and caused many accidents on the road. Consequently, a priest took the action and chained the angry spirit to a tree in Vythiri. This Chain Tree is situated in Lakkidi where even still some of the motorists pay homage to it so as to allow them a safe passage.

Now, from Kalpetta, you’ll go to Ooty, which is also known as Udhagamandalam. It’s a hill station that’s surrounded by dense trees and is well-known as ‘The Queen of Blue Mountains.’ It’s no coincidence that Ooty rhymes with beauty because the place is most certainly one of the places you must visit before you die. It also holds home to the fourth highest peak in the South India region, Doda Betta peak, at a height of 2,637 meters.

Fun fact: The Nilgiri Mountain Railways was recorded as the ‘Slowest Train in India’ as it runs at an average speed of 10 kmph.

You’ll then ride to Kodaikanal which is also a hill town in Tamil Nadu. It’s an astonishing place that’s covered in granite cliffs, lakes, valleys, waterfalls, forested valleys, and grassy hills. On day 6, you’ll head on to Munnar, that’s surrounded by tea plantations which were established in the late 19th century.

The next day, you’ll go to Thekkady which is also an important tourist attraction in Kerala as it an abode for the country’s largest tiger reserve–Periyar.

On day 8, you’ll ride to Kovalam where you can relax on the palm-covered beaches or enjoy Ayurvedic massages (guess what? We also offer ayurvedic packages, so don’t hesitate to contact us for more information!)

You’ll then ride towards Alleppey which is officially called Alappuzha. It’s widely known for its houseboat cruises that run along the rustic backwaters of Kerala. It’ll be a ride worth sharing on your social media channels!

After a comfortable houseboat ride, you’ll ride back to Cochin the next day where you’ll be granted a city tour. You’ll visit the Jewish Synagogue that resides at the heart of Jew Town, ‘The St. Francis Chruch’ which also happens to be the oldest European Church in India. You’ll visit the Dutch Palace and the ‘Chinese Fishing Nets.’ As a bonus, you’ll get the chance to enjoy a Kathakali dance show! Don’t lie but you always wanted to see one of those dances live, right?

Finally, you’ll head back to the airport and bid the South India tour adieu. We still believe that 12 days is a short time to discover the hidden treasures of South India, but we’ll be grateful all the same because you have decided to journey with BrahamaND Tour.

We promise to be a great company and help you create noteworthy memories.

Book your Trip now as it is one of the Best Bike Trips in South India!
