From Kaziranga to Sundarban Tour

Transfer to the airport, flight to Guwahati and continuation to Kaziranga National Park, one of the largest protected areas in India. Created in 1905 on the initiative of Lady Mary, wife of the viceroy of the indies Lord george Curzon, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it currently houses 1600 armored rhinos, two thirds of the world's specimens, the largest group of an animal that a drain makes it was on the verge of extinction, present in just over 10 specimens: an optimal example of careful management and intelligent protection of the wildlife heritage.

Full day dedicated to the park, a true paradise for hundreds of mammalian breeds in addition to the gia citation rhinos: elephants, tigers, antelopes, deer and bears, but also reptiles, large fireflies and pythons. Dozens and dozens of rare species of birds, many of which live in the swamps and banks of the great Brahmaputra river that crosses the park: it is no coincidence that Kaziranga has been recognized as an "important bird area" by the eminent organization Birdlife International.

Transfer to Guwahati airport and return to Calcutta, the glorious capital of the British administration since the mythical company of the East Indies was established there, and currently the country's main cultural and intellectual center. In the afternoon visit the main places of interest of this terrible and sublime city, fascinating and contradictory to ride it between secular traditions and very fast evolution: here the Gandhi movement took its first steps, the work of Mother Teresa, the poetry of Tagore, Sri Aurobindo's philosophy. Alongside the clean lines of luxurious modern buildings and quality filmography, the other reality of Calcutta, the immense metropolis where animal sacrifices offered to the goddess Kali are still celebrated in temples, where commerce is frenetic, traffic jams are memorabilia, The pestilential fumes, the homeless pop up at sunset seeking shelter for the note in their rags and in some street corner. This is also India.

Transfer to Basanti, on the border between India and Bangladesh, and from here by boat to the Sundarbans islands: we are in the kingdom of the Bengal tiger, the ferocious eater of men that nothing and no one fears and is feared by all. Between water and tall grass the increasingly rare villages, replaced by colonies of wild animals that move within an untamed nature.
In the afternoon, first observation from the top of a watchtower overlooking the park, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

In the morning excursion by boat on the river, with stops to observe the animals in their habitat: the magnetic Bengal tiger is the most coveted prey of all visitors armed with cameras ready to shoot!

Return to Basanti by river, with a picnic lunch to be served in the boat, and from here continue by land to Calcutta. Accommodation at the hotel, free time at leisure.
