The Abode in Heaven - North East India Motorcycle Tour
On arrival at Delhi international airport, meet & greet with our representative followed by transfer to hotel.
Delhi – Guwahati (By Flight)
Your port of arrival is Guwahati, here you will be met by your local team and transferred further to your designated hotel. After you are refreshed we will take the opportunity to introduce you to your motorcycle following which we have a comprehensive briefing regarding the days to come.
Guwahati – Tezpur (approx 180 Kms / 05 Hrs)
Heading out of congested Guwahati as daybreak, we ride east towards the rising sun on four lane national highways. Today we ride to Tezpur, a historic city lying at the north bank of the Brahmaputra. The distance for the day day is 180Km, which should be short work, taking us at the most five hours. The idea is to get used to the new environment and riding conditions gradually. Before getting in to Tezpur we will make a brief stopover at the Kolia Bhumura bridge, where we take a short boat ride to sight the ever dwindling Gangetic River Dolphins. Once at the hotel, we will have a short debrief regarding the day and also brief you regarding the next day’s ride. These evening sessions will be the norm throughout the trip.
Tezpur - Bomdila (approx 235 Kms / 07 -08 Hrs)
Today will be our first day on the mountains. Here on we will be riding along the Bhutan border for most of the day. Initially we have dense evergreen forests at the lower altitudes, but as we climb you will notice the vegetation changing and becoming sparse. In relative terms the roads are generally in good condition.
Bomdila - Tawang (approx 170 Kms / 07-08 Hrs)
Today will be a long and high road as we pass the 13700ft Sela Pass. We start with a descent towards the Dirang Valley. The next stage takes us up to the Sela pass which is a constant climb. There is always a high chance of finding snow up here, but the Army usually ensure its open throughout the year. From here, a long descent with numerous hairpins takes us to the valley floor only to start climbing again. Situated at 10,000ft Tawang is the last proper town before Tibet in this sector. Tawang, a town famous for its Monastery which is one of the important religious centres of Tibetian Buddhism and its panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas into Bhutan in the west and Tibet on the North. /in older times this used to be a important town due to its proximity to Tibet and Bhutan.
This is an optional day, those who want to rest and explore around Tawang can do so. For the ones who want to ride we take you close to the tri-juncture of Bhutan-Tibet and India. Here we will visit the Gorsum Chorten. Gorsum chorten has many interesting stories behind it. Each way is about 75Km, this excursion will take us the whole day.
Tawang – Dirang (approx 140 Kms / 06-07 Hrs)
Retracing our route we make our way for the township of Dirang, again we have to cross the Sela Pass.
Dirang – Nameri (approx 200 Kms / 07-08 Hrs)
Leaving early we make our way back to the Brahmaputra valley of Assam. Our destination is the Nameri wildlife sanctuary. For most part of the day we are off the main road as we ride on little used roads. Here we will stay in the eco camp run by the Anglers Association.
We will spend the whole of the next day here indulging in some Wildlife walks, rafting and relaxing.
Nameri – Shillong (approx 300 Kms / 07*08 Hrs)
Leaving early we head out towards Shillong the capital of Maeghalaya. A colonial time hill town Shillong still preserves its old charms mixed now with modernity. The roads are excellent and mostly 4 lane till Shillong.
Shillong - Dawki (approx 170 Kms / 05-06 Hrs)
We ride on some of the best riding roads of Meghalaya today. We head out first towards Jowai the capital of the Jaintia Hill district. Enroute we visit the Nartiang Monoliths a popular place of visit while in Meghalaya. Our destination for the day is Dawki lying at the border with Bangladesh. Today we will camp on the beach along the topaz blue waters of the river.
Dawki - Cherrapunjee (approx 100 Kms / 04-05 Hrs)
A beautiful ride today. The distance of about 130km will take you across deep valleys and interestingly a 30km section along the Indo-Bangla border. For lunch, we stop at Mawlynnong, supposedly the cleanest village in Asia.
This day offers us a beautiful yet fairly tough hike down to the bottom of the valley. Here, lies the now famous root bridges including the double decker. The hike takes us about 4km each way taking about 1.5 to 2 hrs each. At the bottom we can swim in one of the numerous prestine pools that are in abundance here.
Cherappunjee to Guwahati (approx 200 Kms / 07-08 Hrs)
Our last day of the ride will take us back to Guwahati. The distance of 200km will take us about 7 to 8 hrs to cover. Our hotel in Guwahti lies in the city bypass, in close proximity to the transporters, making it easy for those who need to truck their bikes back.

My experience with Brahmand Tour was great from our first email to the end of ths trip. They created a trip based on my time line and other circumstances. I found the trip incredibly organized. Staff were skilled and my wellbeing was important.
There were no problems on my 8 day trip and if there were I believe they would be well managed. I found the scenery impressive and roads thrilling. I recommend traveling by motorbike and using this company.
Ms. Jailin Bertolin
Some trips are planned and some are spontaneous. Brahmand tour made my planned trip to a spontaneous adventure one. Being a solo traveller since last 5-6 years, I chose Brahmand Tour from the online query lot and it paid off big time.
The biking group was a mixed crowd of first time riders, travellers as well as tourists. It's amazing to realise that a 10 days trip with Brahmand Tour catered to all those expectations. The timing of the trip was weather perfect and the trip itinerary was created meticulously. The accomodation ( hotels and camp site in Chadrataal) with the flavoursome food was cherry on the cake. The Road Captain Sanjeev took his own sweet time to mingle with the group carving his leadership and friendship impact on lifetime memories. The back up support (Suresh and Rahul) were friendly and swift in bike maintenance.
Thank you Brahmand Tour for all your efforts in services. Would definately recommend your services.
We had a motorbike trip organized by brahmand (rajesh) from manali-leh-panggong tso. before that brahmand also arranged a day tour to agra and new dehli. we did some changes along the way and rajesh adjusted our trp plans smoothly. we thoroughly enjoyed our trip of a lifetime. thanks brahmand.
Mr. Tai C T
The views are breathtaking and the Ladakhi culture (similar to the Tibetan culture) deserves to be explored.
The tour could be a bit challenging because it requires some motorbike driving experience on the alpine passes or on the off-road paths and adaptability when facing climatic and unexpected adversities, as well as good physical preparation.
Brahmand Tour has made this journey light and pleasant, planning everything in detail, from acclimatization to Indian and Ladakhi food, and has ensured continuous mechanical, medical and bureaucratic assistance. The accommodations were good and welcoming, often surrounded by marvelous landscapes (sand dunes, shimmering lakes, snowcapped mountains and glaciers).
Basic services were also guaranteed when we slept in tents at high altitudes under the stars, the last night.
Rajesh Thakur is professional, courteous and attentive to the needs of the customers and their well-being: he is responsible and takes care of getting the group to the destination in the best possible way ... He is scrupulous and nothing escapes him.
He is cheerful and always available: in his company you feel treated like a friend and not like a client.

Rajesh and Sanjeev made sure I had an excellent experience riding bikes with my father. In addition, their mechanic Ashock is very competent. You will be in good hands with them!

BEST COMPANY FOR COMPLEX CUSTOMIZED TOURS
While planning our trip to Himachal Pradesh and India's Golden Triangle I thoroughly searched the internet to find a reliable tourist organization specialized in customizing tours with car and driver and selected the three with the best reviews.
I then starting exchanging emails with these companies to get estimates for our planned itinerary and needs and BrahmaND TOUR was the only company which was able to offere us exactly what we needed. I exchanged several emails with one of the owners, Sanjeev Jaswal, which not only was always courteous and knowledgeable, but also replied super-quickly to all my emails. We decided to book the tour and wired them a deposit in the amount of the 50% of the estimated price and immediately got the name and cell number of the driver that would have been with us, the type of car, its registration number/plate and other details. This detail definitely put us at ease but what we appreciated the most was the continue communication occurred till the very end of the journey. Our driver (Rajesh Kumar +91 95604 96401) which specializes in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, speaks a good English, is reliable, honest, extremely patient and knowledgeable. During the whole journey he constantly provided us with a lot of attention and did even the impossible to accommodate even the most weird of our requests. Another detail that we liked a lot was that one of the company's owner, Rajesh Thakur took the time to meet with us to make sure that everything was going well. Everything was amazing, and our driver, Rajesh Kumar was fantastic. BrahmaND TOUR was the only company among the ones I contacted that catered to every need, produced an itinerary that suited our time frame and interests. The bottom line is: I highly recommend BrahmaND TOUR and Rajesh as a driver.
