Markha Valley Trek

Our representative will assist you at Kushok Bakula airport Leh - 3500m above sea level. Drive to hotel. Have your breakfast at the hotel. Half Day at rest for acclimatization. After Lunch visit Shanti Stupa, Later in the evening stroll around local market. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

Post breakfast we would start our journey to few more interesting monasteries of Leh and start with Matho, lies 26 Kms south-east of Leh on the opposite bank of the Indus river. Stakna is a little religious community, involving the private loft, all recently enhanced in great Tibetan style, a Du-khang and the rooms of priests and chaperons. In the wake of covering over two cloisters we drive back to Leh and visit Stok Palace in transit, Stok lies south of leh on the contrary side of the burn Tsangspo River. The manor was based on a slope toward the finish of town in about the year 1825 by ruler Tsespal Tondup Namgyal, back to hotel for overnight stay.

Post breakfast, we will drive towards Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with imposing perspectives of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer royal residence of the King of Ladakh. 3 Idiots School Campus Sindhu Darshan visit. Return back to the hotel at Leh for Dinner & stay overnight.

After breakfast drive till chilling and start trek form here the trail heads into a narrow gorge leading towards Skiu. At Skiu there is a confluence of the rivers coming from Markha valley and Shingo. Stay overnight at Homestay.

Following the Markha River, we will climb through the stunning valley on a genuinely level way. The path crosses the stream at different focuses, and goes through winter settlements that contain Lhatos (holy temples for nearby divinities) and Mani dividers (stones engraved with Buddhist supplications). During top season, various rose teahouses will be open, giving healthy refreshment. After cross the waterway once and for all, we will show up in Markha, the biggest town in the valley, comprising of around 20 houses, an old religious community and a destroyed stronghold could be visit. Stay overnight at Homestay.

The Markha valley trail proceeds past old stone-mills, a ruined mansion and the auspicious monastery of Techa, which is proudly perched on a towering cliff that looms above Markha, well worth visiting if we have the energy vitality! Post breakfast, we will cross Kongmaru La, the highest pass on the trek. Here we have a superb view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The 2-hour descend is quite steep, but will gradually level as we enter Shang Gorge, with its strange and differently beautiful rock formations. More waterway intersections bar our way before we show up at the sharp spring of Chuskurmo (utilized in conventional medication by the Amchi specialists).

After breakfast around 3-4 hours trek stroll down towards shangsumdo, here we will end our trek with memorable collections and time to good bye to trekking staff. Vehicle will be there for get us and drive to Leh. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
