2 nights and 3 days cycling tour of Manali

Kullu - Manali valley is famous for its picturesque beauty of mountains, old Himachali culture and its rituals, is sprawling apple/cherry/apricots/pomegranate orchards, dense forest of deodar trees and many more.

Manali is a high altitude Himalayan town and a hub main market for lots of small villages covering many walking/cycling/trekking trails. Manali is a hub point for all backpackers and a famous honeymoon destination. Manali is also known as a gateway of High Mountain passes specially for Leh- Ladakh & Lahaul valley. One can see well-defined snow capped peaks, the Beas River with its clear water meanders through the town.

ITINERARY

  1. Day 01 Morning Arrival at Manali (Known as “The Heaven on Earth”)

    Today we will meet and greet with our representative at Volvo stand, followed by a transfer to the hotel. Post breakfast and freshen up, gather at the hotel’s lobby to meet with the accompanying cruise and briefing.

    Today is your first visit to “Hadimba Devi Temple” which is dedicated to Hadimba Devi, built in 1553 in a clearing among ancient deodars. Built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh, the 27m high pagoda temple has a 3 tier roof and some fine naturalistic wood carving of animals and plants, especially around the doorway. The structure itself is relatively crude, and the pagoda is far from perfectly perpendicular. Massive deodar planks form the roof, but in contrast to the massive scale of the exterior wooden structures the brass image of the goddess Hadimba.

    Later in the afternoon you pedal further on & you come to a small village called “Naggar” where a medieval castle awaits you which is built in traditional pahari style (Kathkuni). You will enjoy an opportunity to have a delicious lunch of fresh local products. Naggar Castle is a wooden traditional local architecture with carved balconies with scenic views of the Beas Valley.

  2. Day 02 Manali- Atal Tunnel(Rohtang Tunnel)

    After a nice peaceful sleep & morning breakfast, you will be pedaling towards “Atal Tunnel” going through Pir Panjal mountain range of Himalayas at an 10000 ft. above sea level (world longest tunnel >9.5 km< above 3000 mt. altitude), further tunnel experience witness the Snow covered mountains of Lahaul Valley. After crossing Tunnel you will enter into an entirely different world with almost no trees and greenery but even higher mountain peaks covered with snow and Chandra, a tributary of Chenab River, flowing next to the tunnel. In the evening, free to stroll down on the Manali Mall for shopping.

  3. Day 03 Departure from Manali

    Today after having breakfast, you are free till afternoon for independent activities, post lunch departure transfer to Volvo bus stand for return travel to Delhi/ Home Town.

Alterations to Tour Schedule
  • Tours operate on a seasonal basis and where seasonal variances and/or weather conditions cause changes in the tour routing and accommodations, the itinerary will be adjusted accordingly. Alternate hotels and roads will be selected. It’s an adventure trip and therefore the day to day plan of the trip is entirely dependent on the day of operation including weather/landslide/traffic/vehicle breakdown & any other unforeseen circumstances. If any change occurs for reasons beyond our control, additional costs have to be paid directly by the participants for next best possible accommodation/alternation in route for safe passage.
