Day 01: Arrive Leh; 3505 meters / 11567 feet
Arrive Kushok Bakula airport Leh – 3500m above sea level. Transfer to hotel. Breakfast at the hotel before 09.30 am. Half Day at rest for acclimatization. After Lunch drive to Visit Shanti Stupa, Later in the evening walk around local market. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.
Day 02: Leh Excursion to Matho, Stakna & Stok palace
Post breakfast we take an excursion to few more interesting monasteries of leh and start with Matho, lies 26 Kms south-east of Leh on the opposite bank of the Indus river. Stakna is a small monastery, comprising the private apartment, all newly decorated in good Tibetan style, a Du-khang and the rooms of monks and attendants. After covering above two monasteries we drive back to Leh and visit Stok Palace on the way, Stok lies south south of leh on the opposite side of the singe Tsangspo River. The castle was built on a hill at the end of village in about the year 1825 by king Tsespal Tondup Namgyal, back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Tour of Hemis, Thiksey, Shey monastery 3 Idiots School Campus & Sindhu Darshan Ghat
After a leisurely breakfast, we drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you are driven back taking the same route to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that we continue to drive through series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. 3 Idiots School Campus Sindhu Darshan visit.Return back to the hotel for Dinner over Night at the Hotel in Leh.
Day 04: Chilling – Skiu (3100 mts/10168 ft)
After breakfast drive till chilling and start trek form here the trail heads into a narrow gorge leading towards Skiu. At Skiu there is a confluence of the rivers coming from Markha valley and Shingo. Overnight at Homestay.
Day 05: Trek Skiu to Markha (3800m/12467ft)/ 07-08 hrs
Following the Markha River, we will hike through the lovely valley on a fairly level path. The trail crosses the river at various points, and passes through winter settlements that contain Lhatos (religious shrines for local deities) and Mani walls (stones inscribed with Buddhist prayers). During peak season, a number of tented teahouses will be open, providing hearty refreshment. After cross the river for the last time, we will arrive in Markha, the largest village in the valley, consisting of around 20 houses, an old monastery and a ruined fort could be visit. Overnight at Homestay.
Day 06: Trek Markha to Thachungtse (4200m/13779ft)/ 05-06 hrs
The Markha valley trail continues past old stone-mills, a ruined castle and the auspicious monastery of Techa, which is proudly perched on a towering cliff that looms above Markha, well worth visiting if we have the energy! The path then intersects the river several times before cutting through the last hamlets in the valley. After leaving the village of Umlung , we will be afforded our first view of Kang-Yatse (6400m), which will stay in sight until we cross Kongmaru La. After we break for lunch in the village of Hangkar (the last in the valley), we will press onward to the lovely green pasture of Thachungtse, where we will camp. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 07: Thachungtse- Nimaling (Approx 6-7 Hrs)
The final push, beginning at 2 am, will be both physically and mentally challenging. But once atop the summit (6200m), the surrounding awe-inspiring scenery of Tibet, and the Zanskar and mighty Karakoram ranges, all of our numbing pains will melt away in a warm glow of success! After spending an hour on top of the world, we will descend to Base Camp, where we will while away the afternoon, relaxing and congratulating each other on a job well done.
Note: If you choose to scale the primary summit (6400 m), you will need to be experienced and well prepared, as you must traverse a very difficult and technically challenging ridge.
Day 08: Trek Nimaling to Chuskurmo vai Kongmarula(5200m/17060ft),05 hrs
After a hearty breakfast, we will cross Kongmaru La, the highest pass on the trek. Here we have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The 2-hour descend is quite steep, but will gradually level as we enter Shang Gorge, with its strange and otherworldly rock formations. More river crossings bar our way before we arrive at the sour-spring of Chuskurmo (used in traditional medicine by the Amchi doctors).
Day 09: Chuskurmo to Shang to Leh
After breakfast Around 3-4 hours trek walk down towards shangsumdo here we will end our trek with successful and time to good bye to trekking staff. Car will be there for pick us up and drive to leh . Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 10: Depart
On time drop at airport.
